Frome, Mercedes (Marriage - 29 May 1940)
Miss Mercedes Frome, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Frome, Colby, and James H. Archambo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Archambo, were united in marriage, May 29th, at four o’clock in the afternoon. The Rev. O. H. Hoffman performed the rites in the parsonage of the Zion Lutheran church.
For her marriage the bride wore a street length frock of Copenhagen blue with a shoulder corsage of pink roses and carnations. Her cousin, Miss Marion Frome, was her only attendant. She wore dusty rose crepe with a corsage of white roses. Both wore white hats and slippers.
Theodore Archambo acted as best man for his brother.
A 6:30 dinner with covers laid for fifty was served at the home of the bride’s parents. Pink and blue decorations and cut flowers were used in the home decorations. A wedding dance at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion was held in the evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Archambo are making their home in Chippewa Falls at 206 Linden Street. The groom is employed at the service station owned by the Thomson Oil Co., on the highway to Eau Claire.
The bride, a graduate of the Colby high school and the Oshkosh State Teachers College, taught school the past four years northwest of Curtiss.
Guests at the reception included: Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Archambo, sons, Victor and Theodore, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Archambo, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Laack and children, Elroy Patitz, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gosse, and son, Maynard, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Schueler, daughters, Minnie and Alfrieda, Stanley Thomson, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas, Curtiss; Carl Holmes, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Frome, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Frome and children, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Frome and children; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Borchert, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tesmer, all of Colby, Wis.
